The world is full of stories waiting to be told.
FilmKik is an award-winning documentary production company based in Puerto Rico, founded by filmmaker Halana Mediavilla. We step inside a moment in time, a place, or a well-lived life, then pull the thread, weaving it into a documentary film.
Meet the director
Halana Mediavilla is the founder, director and producer of FilmKik. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, she founded FilmKik in Santa Clara, California in 2012 and spent five years as a video producer and director at Google.
In 2021 she brought the company home to Puerto Rico. Today FilmKik makes original documentaries like Dirty Coin, Stranded and Bob the Beveler, driven by a curiosity about how modern life actually works.
In more than 17 years of production, her work has reached over 500 million views. She has filmed at the Vatican, the White House and in jungles on four continents.
You may find her name written as Halana or Alana. The H is silent in Spanish, so you'll see it both ways.

Working with brands
For brands with a legacy to share.
In addition to our original productions, we work with a few clients each year to create documentaries about their story, their people and their legacy. Brand documentaries, legacy films, founder stories, and keynote videos, made with the same focus that we bring to our own projects.
You work with Halana, from the first conversation to the final cut.
